My second Croce Q8 after You Don't Mess Around With Jim. It did have a GRT channel swap, but once I swapped the lefts everything fell into place. Stellar! Excellent sound quality for Q8 and it doesn't suffer from as much unnecessary canned echo as the QS LP (perhaps this aspect of the mix is accentuated by the QS encode/decode).

As with You Don't Mess Around, the mix is really nice: the guitars are spread wide in the fronts and the backing vocals are isolated in the rear channels, but there are some variations such as the rear-only guitars in "Speedball Tucker".

These Croce quads would make excellent SACDs, but since that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon the tapes will have to do (and with a little hiss clean-up on the PC they do sound quite impressive). A 9 from me.
