I was reading an article on a topic unrelated to music where the author mentions the name Elmer Gantry. I said to myself, hmmmmmm, isn't he one of the vocalists on the Eye In The Sky album? So I Googled the name and came up with this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmer_Gantry

So my question: Is this Elmer Gantry on Eye In The Sky a real person, or is it just tongue-in-cheek humor by the Alan Parson's Project? I would surmise the latter; but if so, then who is this person singing this track adopting the alias of Elmer Gantry?

(Silly, humorous answers welcome.)

It was a stage named adopted by singer Dave Terry back in the 1960s. He first performed with Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera and then with the band Stretch.
That's the real name of the person who sings on "Psychobabble" and also "May Be a Price to Pay" on "The Turn of a Friendly Card"

Great news! Hopefully this encourages Alan to get on with mixing more APP albums in surround. Bring on I Robot, Pyramid & Turn of a Friendly Card!

I wonder irf Steven Wilson submits his work for nominations? He may not desire that status. Just my curiousity peaking through. He definitely deserves it compared to some of the stuff that I wouldn't think twice about at the awards over the last couple decades..

At this point he deserves a lifetime achievement! Good to hear about Eye In The Sky...

Congrats to AP. I hope this in some small degree can increase a bit of interest and sales. That stand alone blu ray is a GREAT deal. Worth the price for "Silence and I" alone.
Wouldn't it a complete Alan Parsons Project catalog look awfully cool as stand alone Blu Rays?

I am glad that Mr. Parsons won this award. I am intrigued by the category title. Immersive Audio is a term I have not heard before, but definitely works, whether you listen to music in 3 channel or more than I can imagine, music should be immersive, as well as inclusive.

it is a great name! pretty sure the name of the category was changed last year, to reflect new surround technology, the Atmos stuff etc.
