I had found an educational version of it that was quite a bit cheaper.
There are a few caveats though. It's not a 100% fully functional version of the program (although it's pretty close), and you have to be a student.
I've considered purchasing this version (since I am a radio student), but I don't want to settle for a less then 100% version of the software.
Still, if you'd like I'll see if I can find more info about this for you.
In the end, even at $350, it's still much cheaper then just about any other multitracking software.
