Multichannel LPCM in DVD-Video

We all know the specs do allow for this, up to 8 channels, up to 6.144Mb/sec.
Yet it seems that player implementation is non existant.

But.
According to http://patches.sonic.com/pdf/white-papers/wp_dvd_audio.pdf
such streams can be imported into a DVD-A project as part of the Video_TS.
I wonder how such discs would play back as DVD-V discs......
Must try this & see.

6144 would mean
48k*16bit*8 channel
OR
48k*24bit*5channel
so for standard resolution it may be a viable solution. Problem is, there is authoring software that allows a 48k*24bit*5channel somewhere? All LPCM stuff is always stereo.

Funny you should mention that.
I tried a 16/48 Multichannel interleaved file into DVD-Lab Pro 2.22, and it imported with no problem.
Will try a 24/48, but see no reason it won't import - how it will multiplex though is another matter.
