This is in regard to the Saint-Saens 'Organ' Symphony recorded by Jean Martinon. I can't figure out if this thing is quad or not, or whether it depends on which version you get. Try this:

Angel [US] S-37122 Cover doesn't say quad, but it uses a circle Angel logo (normally the giveaway) and the catalog number on the label itself is SQ-2-37122
EMI [France] 2C 063-14070Q Back cover says quad, but the label doesn't
EMI [Germany] 1C 065-14070Q Cover doesn't say quad but the label does - also catalog # has Q at the end
EMI [UK] ASD-3674 No mention of quad on cover or label
EMI [Netherlands] 5C 063-14070Q cover says quad, no access to label

Anyone who has any of these: I would love you to tell me what your ears tell you.

Perhaps this Quad Discography Classical Selections will help http://www.surrounddiscography.com/quaddisc/quadQVC.htm

This one has the SQ logo on both the cover and the label so if you don't want to risk getting a Stereo only release, you may wish to go for this one.

I can't help with a listening test as all the classical are packed away and do not own ASD-3674 AFAIK
2C 069-14070Q which is a reissue of 2C 063-14070Q has SQ mentioned on the label

A different cover version of EMI 2C 069-14070 lists SQ in the lower right corner

EMI 5C 063-14070 mentions Quadrophonie on the label

I think these are just labeling inconsistencies and in the case of ASD-3674 it is a stereo release.
The majority of the ASD series were quad only releases but not all. However their is the suspicion that more are quad than identified according to one collectors opinion.

Quadraphonic Discography Rumored Unreleased Recordings
{EMI literature states that the above was recorded in "state of the art quadraphonic sound".
The Quadraphonic Record Center Catalog - 2nd Ed., published by Beggers Banquet/London
1976 Mentions "Credit must be given to EMI who are issuing all their new classical
recordings in SQ. From the view point of public acceptance of quadro, however, they are
maintaining a low profile on this and many retailers stocking EMI classics are unaware
that they are stocking SQ records". Some quad collectors think this might be an unmarked
Quad recording after close examination of the record grooves and using a quad display
scope and a Tate II SQ decoder for as good as a verification you are going to get without
documentation from EMI.}

A quad collector has some interesting comments about this
