That's OK dr! Thanks for trying. I must say that it is amazing that the 563 firmware has so completely evaporated from the internet! Must keep trying! Thanks and no problemo, the mystery simply deepens!

dr.--FYI, download does work now! Anyway, I'll keep hunting for this elusive 563 firmware and will post an update in the future if I have any luck finding it. The only alternative to DV-563A is the Taiwan-version, DV-667A which is also listed on my user manual. No luck finding its firmware upgrade using that model number either. AVSForum.com might have some hope as there was some interest in the upgrade over there too.
