as an enthusiasts' upgrade to all the existing bose factory systems out there. I'm pretty sure most if not all their systems have self-contained amplified speakers. Toss in a SoundLink mini for use as the center and it would probably sound better than most systems currently on the road.

Plus we'd finally have discrete SACD & DVD-A surround in-dash!!

Very Interesting, i never heard tell of this one. Sounds impressive, i wonder though if it passed full 24-96/ 5.1 or if it was just dts/dd and sacd 2.0. The article doesn't go in depth. My daughter had a very nice bose system in her 07' jeep commander but it downmixed dvd a to 2 channel, unless it had a dts or dd stream in which case it automatically switched. It did not however play sacd, so this unit must have been a ferrari upgrade.
