You're right on for dynamic range; the digital equivalent of the best analog tape is about 13 bits, or ~78dB. As for frequency response, the best analog tape recorders and formulations smoothly rolled off from around 20kHz to 40 or 50kHz.

It's a little more complicated than that. For CD4 records to work, an ultrasonic frequency carrier had to be cut to vinyl, for example, requiring a useful bandwidth of 45kHz. So analog is of course capable of capturing and 'playing' frequencies well above the limit of hearing, if the right equipment is used. Though of course too, this does not mean you can hear them or that it makes analog 'better sounding' or that they matter at all in the normal run of recording and playback.
