Which is proper output for SACD PC playback PCM 176.4kHz (PowerDVD) or 88.2kHz (Foobar2000) ?

my receiver will accept either input, which is true(ist) to SACD? (but seems like my Pioneer SC-97 will downsample the 176 to 88 but will straight passthrough 88-->88 when I view the pioneers status viewer)

In your case, I would suggest 88kHz simply to avoid having two different downsamplings by two different devices. Either way, you are stuck with that sample rate because of the Pioneer's limitations.

If you could actually play the 176.2kHz output, I would recommend it but it is of no value to you.
