if someone uploads a two channel rip of their quad lp and i run it to the two channel in of a decoder, is it going to do the mix justice? and

give me the 4 channel speaky boom boom rihght?

seems like a great way to hear a lot of source material.

technical wavelength jargen welcome. (or lead me to where this is already chatted on in this here forum.

ps q8 is g8, but q4 has more?

Well, a CD-4 rip won't decode because the YouTube audio won't have the high frequency carrier signal. QS and SQ will decode to some degree, but because the audio is compressed, there would be a lot of audio artifacts.

The videos on this page (from QQ'erTab Patterson) decode really well if you have a Dolby Pro Logic II decoder in your amplifier:

I recorded a song in QS quad, and the MP3 encoder removed most of the back channel information. The parts I recorded to LB and RB came out as left middle and right middle (QS mix).
