My understanding is that MFSL had gone out of business over a year ago. How is it that I am seeing Newly released (in 2003) issued SACD titles under this moniker?

Mobile Fidelity was purchased by Music Direct awhile ago. They started their SACD releases last year with 3 by Patricia Barber.
These have been followed by SACDs by Isaac Hayes, Sonny Rollins and Dave Alvin with 11 more to follow later this year.

So far they've issued 3 Patricia Barber SACDs (very good sonically) along with titles from Dave Alvin and Isaac Hayes.
Next up are SACDs from the Kinks and John Coltrane with many more coming.
It's nice to have them back in the Audiophile business !
