Hmm, there's a company on eBay offering a refurbished Marantz SA-12S1 Multichannel SACD player for $1,499 under eBay's "Buy It Now" category.

If you're willing to consider a refurbished player, could be an interesting deal. (The player costs $3,799 new).

Check cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI...egory=3316 for a look.

It's an excellant player too..

I've got one and had it modded and am really happy with the SACD performance..

Since the player shares the "HDAM" high definition analog modules found first in the Philips SACD-1000, the SA-12S1 is a nice sounding SACD player - even without mods !

Yeah I agree..

I bought it strictly for SACD and got a bonus in that the video performace was considerably better than my Pioneer 38A..

It only puts out an interlaced signal - I'm surprised Marantz wouldn't have offered progressive scan as well..their rationale was anyone buying a player at this price point would be someone using either a scaler or HTPC, which I do..

Anyone know if this player can be modded to add an SDI output?
