I am requesting any updates you would like to have added to the Movie Soundtracks and Original Cast Quad Discography including corrections.

If the title is new please include the following

1. Artist
2. Title of album
3. Record label
4. Catalog number
5. Quadraphonic format (QS, SQ, CD4, UMX)
6. Format - LP (vinyl), Q8 (Quad 8-track), QR (quad reel to reel)
since catalog numbers change w/format
7. Add a D in front of the tape format code listed above if Dolby
was used on the tape.
8. Country of origin (U.S., U.K, etc.) since catalog
numbers change with country of origin

I will create separate threads for the other discographies for updates.

Three Penny Opera (Original Broadway Cast) Columbia (D)Cassette KST34326 is SQ encoded, just like the LP.
And Purlie (Original Broadway Cast) was also released as just plain stereo mix on LP, 8-track, and cassette.

A Chorus Line (first CD release) is an SQ quad mix, I am nearly certain, although it has not been generally noted as such. I decoded it with OD's 'final' script for adobe audition. It has a real surround feel much more than the usual increased ambiance you get decoding a stereo mix.

Suggestion for Mark: change the listings for 'Threepenny Opera' and 'My Fair Lady' to say "1976 Revival Cast" instead of "Original Broadway Cast". Both shows were originally on Broadway in the 1950's; the quadraphonic albums were from all-new productions in the 70's. I think someone had false hopes of hearing Julie Andrews, Rex Harrison, and others in 4-channel glory. Sorry, folks!

Thanks for the clarification Boojidad.

I have changed My Fair Lady from "My Fair Lady (1976 Original Cast)" to "My Fair Lady (1976 Revival Cast)" and Threepenny opera from "Three Penny Opera (Original Broadway Cast)" to "Threepenny Opera (1976 Broadway Cast, New York Shakespeare Festival)"

As always I do appreciate the input and will have these posted soon

I stumbled across this little article from 78 (Hi Fi News and Record Review).

Re : Star Wars soundtrack utilizing QS matrix in the mix.
