I'm thinking about a new computer at a Black Friday Sale. Is my older Adobe Audition 1.5 program compatible with 64 Bit Windows 7? Microsoft lists Audition 3 as compatible, but makes no mention of older versions such as 1.5 or 2.0. The Adobe Website also says nothing. I also notice with Windows 7 that I will lose Outlook Express and fear my old Adobe PhotoDeluxe 4.0 which I use for my artwork won't work. Anyone been through this or know the answers? Thanks.

Good question. In general, I've noticed most older programs seem to work with Windows 7 64 bit. But I would also make sure there are Drivers and Windows 7 software upgrades for sound cards and equipment. There is a "Virtual Windows XP" that comes with certain versions of Windows 7. There is also a compatabilitly center Microsoft has set up at their website:

Windows 7 Compatibility Center http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15

What is program compatibility? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-program-compatibility

Download Windows XP Mode http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

I use Windows 7 64 bit and Audition 1.5. It works fine but does require admin priviledges and drops the aero interface to the basic one. Apart from that it is 100%
