(D32Y3539) Japanese A&M Audio Master Plus Series (afaik never saw a US or UK release) and the UK CD I have (on East Central One label) has horribly boosted bass, fingers crossed this sounds as nice as Dad's LP

Heavy Weather - Weather Report (Absolutely essential, available on US & Japan 2ch SACD, both OOP) w/Jaco Pastorius


Black Market - Weather Report (available on Japan 2ch SACD, OOP) w/Jaco Pastorius


Night Passage - Weather Report w/Jaco Pastorius


ANY Miles Davis album from late '60's through the '90's is in the jazz/fusion genre. Here's a few of the best:

Icarus - Paul Winter/Winter Consort (roots of New Age, but IMHO meatier than any new age album. Winter & group that became Oregon. IMHO, one of the greatest albums in ANY genre) Produced by George Martin.

Ongaku Kai (live in Japan) - Crusaders (dbx Lp is stunning, but needs dbx decoder. Digital recording, IMHO CD sounds poor)
