Yes, LizardKing, it was the 2003. The original Tubal Ligation is an SACD. Yes, I listen to CTA often. Too bad it's lossy. Although they've done better albums, this is a strong one. Beginnings is my fave song ever. Wish they released Chicago X on DVD-A. When it was new, I played the Q8 in my car constantly. I need to bring those Knopfler DVD-A's tomorrow. I've had them for years and have never heard them. :yikes As Eric Bibb sings, "I ended up with too much stuff."

Only the beginning of what I want to feel forever...

FYI - I prefer the Tubal Ligation Quad SACD. ;)...

I'd love to hear "If you leave me now" - uber plush.....:chill

I prefer the Quad Tubular Bells, as well. My car fi will only play that as a CD, not SACD. So, I pulled out the 2003.

If You Leave Me Now sounds great in Quad, although the only track I like less on Chicago X is Hope for Love. You Get It Up, Scrapbook and Mama Mama are more my style. If You Leave Me hit #1.

OK, here's my DVD-A playlist for another 80 degree day with the top down tomorrow:

Shangri-La & Sailing to Philly - The Sultan of Swing
Going Home - Eric Clapton
Songs for Beginners - Graham Nash
If I Wasn't so Stoned, I Could Remember - David Crosby
Halloween - Francis Vincent Zappa
The Nightfly - Donald Fagen

With jazz and conversation, from the foot of Mt. Belzoni.

FYI - I prefer the Tubal Ligation Quad SACD. ;)...

Sunday Jazz:

"In Modern Times" Spyro Gyra [SACD]

Very convincing surround mix, even if the music is a bit on the easy-listening side.

"Seven Steps To Heaven" Miles Davis [SACD] {AP 3-channel mix}

Leaves me gagging.... such brilliance and restraint. To think that this was made almost 50 years ago makes it even more stunning.

Alison Krauss & Union Station Live - SACD
Zappa - DTS DVD - home brew containing upmixes of Imaginary Diseases (FZ Big Band live/Grand Wazoo era) and my all time fave Roxy & Elsewhere - plus a straight extraction of Quadiophiliac.

- sorry Quad Linda, no convertible or DVD A - just the poor man's open sunroof and SACD car player. Still letting my freak flag fly though

Bridge Over Troubled Water - Tom & Jerry SQ
16 Greatest - Grassroots QS
Ship Ahoy - O'Jays SACD 5.1
They Lost Their Heads - Henry VIII & Rick Wakeman SQ
On the Border - Eagles CD-4
Colors of the Day - Suite Judy Blue Eyes CD-4

All DVD-A, except Gerald Bostock

Last Waltz - Band with everybody and their uncle
Riding With the King - BB King & Eric Clapton
Music from Big Pink - Band
The Game - God Save Freddie Mercury
Over the Edge & Back- Mickey Hart
Little Criminals - Randy Newman
Live at Carnegie Hall 1970 (Part of UK expanded Stand Up) - Jethro Tull DVD-V
