Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
I just received notification that mine was shipped as well. I didn't pay for the expensive shipping option so probably 2 weeks away for me alas. It will either be my favourite audio over Xmas or my favourite drinks coaster over Xmas.

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
It's back on Amazon and now called:
The Best of Pink Floyd - Alexander Jero Custom Audiophile Presentation [7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio Discs] [Audio Art on Blu-ray]
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Pink-Floy...529615&sr=8-14
Anyone know what the "Audio Art on Blu-ray" means?
You guys who've ordered it - Let us know if its "audio art" or just a coaster....

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
If I recall correctly, I thought his stuff was MIDI (Music Keyboard with multiple instruments inside connected to computer) or an actual keyboard performance of classical material. Didn't he give us a legal DTS-CD of "Nutcracker" one Christmas many years ago as a Demo from his website?
You can do cover tunes of Pink Floyd provided you pay royalties for songs, which is now made easy for anyone to do and is not expensive, depending. So classical recordings not in copyright or any material 75 years or older is in the public domain. An artist cannot stop anyone from recording a cover of any song provided none of the original sound recording is used and royalties paid.
One should not claim Roger Waters as director or use even a "likeness" of Pink Floyd original art without proper permission. If you buy from Amazon and this is not a Roger Waters authorized project or Roger Waters is not the director, you can return item for a full refund as "item not as described" even if or especially if item description has been changed after purchase.
My guess is this is a surround MIDI project from keyboards/instruments either performed or from MIDI files. There are many free MIDI files out there of just about any song.

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
If it was this it is certainly against what Mr Jero has publicly commented on i.e. the use of original studio masters, which created all the excitement. With the imminent arrival we will be able to hear 'In the Flesh' in the flesh so to speak. Hopefully it will not leave us Comfortably Numb or we may then be witness to The Trial and he will Wish You Were Here to save him from the Dogs.

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
Well, yes they could be original studio masters of Pink Floyd "As performed by Alexander Jero." To imply anything else if this is a MIDI project or cover tune recording would be deceptive. It does no one any good to ruin one's reputation if item is not as what one led folks to believe. It's not necessary. Just do good work to begin with and build upon it.

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
Hmm, wonder how easy it is to get permission to use Storm Thorgerson/Hipgnosis artwork ?

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
according to his previous answer, this obviously not a personal "midi improvisations on the PF songs"
albeit "another studio in europe" sounds pretty murky too. could be similar to his "personal studio" but
somewhere in basement in Moscow, his former hometown.

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
It's strange. The guy seemingly wants to be taken seriously by the labels ( see http://forum.blu-ray.com/5498032-post122.html ) but he engages in this self-destructive behavior and has done nothing to dispel the uncertainty and doubt regarding these releases (in fact all his actions have the opposite effect). I can't imagine any major label wanting to have any association with him.

That was good Time Lord...you're hired!
Just now, as I was sitting here reading these last few Posts from today, I too, received a shipping notification from Amazon.

He forgot to add

- adopt multiple personalities within the click of a mouse button
- can deflect criticisms with a barrage of irrelevant counterclaims
I don't know about the record industry, he would be in high demand as a government official/ advisor

My BD is on the UPS truck out for delivery. Unfortunately, I won't have a chance to listen to it today because I'm heading off to work. I will give it a listen in the next day or two and report here because I know there are so many of you that are aching to know how it is.![]()

Re: The Best of Pink Floyd Blu-ray coming november 29
Umm....this isn't MIDI. I don't have time to really explore this tonight but I'm hearing real Pink Floyd tunes here (as in studio tracks off of real albums). The disc reads "Alexander Jero/Roger Waters Special Presentation Against Anti-Semitism." My first three minute listen to a couple of songs suggests maybe fancy matrixing but this gets weirder and weirder.
