also, rather spookily LK, I've got the Boz Scaggs DVDA on its way in the mail right now too.. after I finally found a seller who described the "cloth bound book & 5.1 DVD audio" etc.. all in detail in their listing! this one I simply cannot WAIT to hear!

I'd have bought the 6 String Theory Monster thingy a long time ago (as I love the George Benson Monster DTS DVD set to death! it sounds sooooo good, almost DVD-Audio like!) but the Ritenour album (and I like his playing, don't get me wrong) is just dull dull dull.. It's a bit like the Fourplay DVD-A.. I've resisted getting that all these years.. elevator music that doesn't give me a lift..!

Blue Country Heart is one of the BEST SACD's! A link to my SACD collection is listed on my "About Me" page: http://www.sa-cd.net/library/7517/1

Fred, you'll love Boz. Great mix and music. Roy Hargrove does all the horns.

There's a fire up the road and it's burnin' 'bout five foot three...

so shocked to hear Hugh McCracken has died :( I didn't realise he was even unwell. turns out he was suffering from leukaemia.

just read about Phil Ramone's passing on here too.. :(

Dip me in shit! I never suspected the archies to be q8!! sugar sugar the tune that killed the Monkees. ( I do not blame them a bit-I would have done that same. Ever see Head?

Hugh McCracken apparently played on some Monkees songs as well (I haven't figured out which though).

Hugh McCracken played on the following Monkees tracks, among others:

A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You

This single was put together by Don Kirschner as his "protest" of the Monkees desire to play their own instruments. It was withdrawn and caused Donnie to be dismissed from the Monkees projects.

She Hangs Out (original withdrawn Canadian single) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfJ2Z0w4reA also on Monkeemania (Australia), Headquarters (deluxe ed.), Monkee Business, Missing Links Vol. 3, Listen to the Band & Music Box.

Love to Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b98acgLiwd8 on Monkeemania (Australia), Monkee Business, Listen to the Band & Music Box. Alternate mix on Missing Links Vol. 3.

Obviously, he was part of the sessions for the aborted second album, which was recorded before More of the Monkees. Most of these tracks were re-recorded and appeared on later albums.

Oh, My My (single) Changes, Listen to the Band & Music Box.

I Love You Better (single) Changes, Listen to the Band & Music Box.

Likely he was on other tracks from the Changes album, many of which are credited to personnel unknown.

And don't forget Phil McCracken. lol!!
