What albums have you NEVER seen on an official CD? ANY stereo mono or mono albums apply, including compilations. Please, no requests for Quad or 5.1 mixes here. Here's a few of mine:
Dorothea wrote Love's Lines, Angles & Rhymes, which the Fifth Dimension released as a single. If you dig Laura Nyro, you'll dig Dorothea. enlightenment.jpg
Another wonderful singer/songwriter influenced by Laura Nyro: 84771.jpg
These next three have been out for years on unauthorized Germanophone & Crown issues, but not on authorized releases. All three are instrumental. img_1_pr.jpg
Picante is the Brazilian album released in the US as Sergio Mendes. All of LP side 1 is the same songs, sung in Spanish, including Never Gonna Let You Go and My Summer Love. The English version has been released in English many times. The Spanish version is the same photo with Picante written on the cover. Essential! 170074.jpg
Noce de Amor is another A&M release where LP side 1 is in Spanish. This time, there are three songs that aren't on the US Blow Your Own Horn. Noce de Amor is one of the tracks exclusive to this album. Wonderful! cover_alpert_noche.jpg
US Blow Your Own Horn, which has been released on CD. One of many albums that Herb was gracious enough to autograph for me. Herb-Alpert-Blow-Your-Own-Hor-374625.jpg
Por Amor Viviremos is Love Will Keep Us Together. The entire album is sung in Spanish. A0130929.jpg
It's hard to believe that these Neil Diamond Bang albums have never been released on CD. Columbia had bought the entire lot in the 80's. Many songs have been released on compilations. They also released the entire group recently in mono on the Complete Bang Masters CD. Yet, these individual albums, and many of their alternate mixes and stereo versions have never been released on CD. What are they thinking?
None of the Capitol Red Nichols albums have been released on CD. All his early stuff has. The shame is that the late stuff features the best Dixieland since Satchmo and the fidelity is superb!

This one always surprised me. In the earlier days of CD it was often the best of or other compilation that got released when it was a "lesser known" artist, and this was always a super 2 disc set with several songs on it not available elsewhere.
This one, and the Kraftwerk ones definitely make my want list.
I think there are three reasons that Chords of Fame never made it to CD:
1- It wouldn't fit on one disc.
2- A&M would again have to split the profits or lease the rights for half the album from Elektra. Although WEA did get A&M masters for the Rhino 3 Disc Farewells & Fantasies box.
3- Most of the album was already on other compilations.

Moby Grape under a different name for contractual reasons. They wrangled with Matthew Katz for years over rights to their name. Released in Germany. 51621.jpg
virtually all of Jack Jones' late 60's through to late 70's RCA LPs sadly remain unreleased on CD to this day.
Laserlight released CDs of Jacks' "Live at The Sands", "The Christmas Album" & "Sings Michel Legrand" albums, thankfully, as they are among the best of his RCA years.. but that was about 20 years ago.
The Michel Legrand LP got reissued later by Polygram Japan (this time with its original LP artwork), together with "Write Me A Love Song, Charlie" (his Charles Aznavour tribute album).
Still, there are a good few gems of Jacks' RCA LPs that have never been released on CD to this day, including "Bread Winners" (David Gates/Bread covers), "Harbour", "Together", "A Song For You", "What I Did For Love" and "With One More Look At You".
Big sigh

All the Lennon material here has been released on different CD compilations and as bonus tracks. I'm not aware that the tracks with Elton and his band have ever made it to CD.38848.jpg

CD2 ("There") of the Classic Years remaster of Elton's "Here & There" album has many of the songs from the historic Thanksgiving EJ/JL MSG gig.
Many of these albums are not available on CD--and by now, probably never will be--because a) they didn't sell crap the first time out, b) are by obscure artists very few care about, let alone heard of; or c) the artist controls all the material (Alpert and Diamond) and apparently don't care to bother. I mean, if Herb can ignore TJB VOL. 2, he can certainly ignore the lesser-selling early '70s albums. As for Diamond, his first two albums were never repressed, period; after the first run they went out of print, and I don't recall seeing overseas or Canadian pressings of any vintage. He *could* put them out, but if he can't be bothered to remix some of the never-been-in-stereo material (and he does seem to have a mono preference for his Bang stuff), small wonder he could care less about the original releases.
Confederation - Larry McNeely An oft overlooked Sheffield Direct-to-Disc, which, admittedly would pale in comparison on CD. If you like Bluegrass, YOU NEED THIS!!

I'm lusting to have Doodles Weaver doing Eleanor Rigby on CD! He sang "Feitlebaum" with Spike Jones.
Four by Steely Dan UK EP. I've yet to see Dallas on CD. A KILLER track, sung by Jim Hodder. Why was this left off the box set??? Could it be another missing ABC master, or did Becker and Fagen not bother because Hodder sang it?

I believe they've said in an interview that Dallas was left off the box because it was, as they put it, "stink-o". Quite a shame, but at least it isn't impossible to track down this EP.
