I just acquired a TC788-4. What a beast! Do you still have one Linda?how do you like it?
I am going to restore mine(it's a bit rough, but repairable) and I'm trying to find a users manual and a few spare parts.

It looks like a very nice deck, although I have no experience with it. Although Pacific Stereo was one of the largest Sony dealers in the US, we never stocked this machine. Like most dealers, we sold mostly Teac 3340/2340's and a couple $400 list price Quad reels, including Sony.
