I have the two SQ discs. I think Carmina Burana was part of a SQ classical motherlode I found at goodwill. So 99 cents here :D

I resently played the gold border SQ 1812 Overture. BEAUTIFUL

Finally arrived. Jade Warrior - Released, US Vertigo Spaceship, Masterdisk GK in the runout. Sounds Great!

Neil Diamond "Touching Me... Touching You"

I gather there's some alternate mixes of Sweet Caroline. This is the UK edition of the album which has the track tagged on the end of side 1. No idea which mix it is in the scheme of things though.

This album sounds great to me, so I really wonder if the Vertigo press would be any better. To quote Monty Python: "Bring Out Your Dead"!

Depends on what you want. The original Ode of this has a different mix than all the US CD releases of these tracks. The recent LP pressings are the remixes, as well. Supposedly, the original mixes were lost after the LP was pressed. Both mixes sound good to me.

YOU NEED THIS! The '96 US CD's of their first four albums all have bonus tracks. I strongly recommend those versions. ALL four of their original albums (Spirit, Family, Clear & Sardonicus) would rank in my Top 100. Sardonicus ranks in my Top 10. The original incarnation of Spirit ranks in my Top five music acts.

Fortunately, I got to meet both Randy and Ed the year before Randy passed.

Not to be missed.

Linda, I am hunting for this one on eBay. In you opinion does the ODE version sound noticeably better than other versions?
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks for the nudge, tomorrow is the beginning of Spirit spins.

Today was Joan Armatrading - Secrets Secrets (new wave not quite dialed in but a rare Cd find), Jimi Hendrix - Hell People Angels and I enjoyed that quite a lot. Then of course - Beck - Morning Phase ( my current fav).

Tim this is a vinyl thread, go to sleep.

Finally got this one in the mail today. It is a Dutch Pressing, and since I was led to believe the album would have bad sound quality, I am actually quite pleased so far. The songs are fantastic. Never Let Go is simply awesome!

My favorite Camel Album so far. Have yet to hear Mirage...

Linda, Which sounds better UK or US LP, in your opinion? I would usually default to UK...
Cheers,
Mike
