Now, You have!

Boredom kicked in a little bit tonight. Winter is on it's way in a hurry, I'm still unemployed and it's too bloody cold/dark to go work on the cars outside.

My Q8 tapes are a bit of a source of pride to me. It's kinda neat to think these little guys are nearing half a century old and yet, here they are! Many in very nice condition, all perfectly playable.

That's about half the collection. Maybe tomorrow (or even later tonight) I'll bust out the orange tapes, the Project 3's, the GRT's, the Ampex's.....

How many can you recognize? :)

That collection is amazing. I have hundreds of stereo 8-tracks but only a handful of Q8s thus far. Your collection is the stuff dreams are made of. You really deserve congrats for building an archive that large. Maybe someday I will get there too.

I've often wondered what I could get if I sold 'em all, (I could really use the money!) but I don't think I'd be able to get my investment back.

absolutely AMAZING collection, Q-Eight! (y)

imho you should never part with them, you'll only come to regret it down the line.

as you say, if you ever wanted to build up that kind of considerable, comprehensive mega-collection again.. well, it'd be a tall order - seriously time-consuming and pricey, a lot of those tapes are becoming rarer and more expensive by the day and your collection looks to be in tip-top condition. they are treasures that should be in a museum!

hey, here's a thought, you're short on work at the moment, why not open a fee-paying Quadraphonic museum to raise some cash..!? I'd chip in to come and check it all out! :D

I have a collection of car players I'm sure everyone would love to see. Problem with that is, I'm such a nice guy, I'd feel bad charging admission.

Quite a collection! You have me beat. Do you have the original slipcovers for all of them?

I also recognize the girl in the blue and maroon on the orange cartridge. No offense intended, but you can better recognize the girls in CD-4.

wow! you have some really cool titles, I wish I could read them all

I like the "The best quad is from Romulus" tapes- are they anything special?

we need a quadraphonic/surround sound museum to preserve all this music and showcase to other people

Yeah, if you have done the work to get a collection like that, you would probably hate yourself later for selling it off. A Q8 museam would be amazing. I wonder how many Q8's that guy in Texas has in his 8-Track museum. probably not nearly as many as you.

Keep On Trackin'!

How about another thread with your Q8 car player collection?

Here's one of my two, Pioneer QP-444. The other is a Realistic. No, I'm not looking to sell them.

Yeah, My camera sucks. I can post a list of the titles. The Romulus tapes are the neatest bootlegs. Are they special? Heck yeah. Bootlegged Quad? The mixes are varied but they try to be discrete.

I definately want to see that Romulus list. Are those albums that do not have an official quad release? You may have the last ones left of some of the boots

Linda: Yep. That was my stereo I tried to sell on eBay. Guess nobody really wanted it - I bought it a while back and it needed some serious love (a belt, adjustment, pot cleaning and some mechanical work) but it's flawless now.
