So now that all of Mr. Wilson's mixes have been released for the year, I thought it might be cool to rank all 13 classic albums he's remixed so far and see how lists compare! Here's mine:

  1. King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic (DVD-A/Blu-Ray)
  2. Jethro Tull - Aqualung (DVD-V/Blu-Ray)
  3. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (DVD-A)
  4. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus (DVD-A)
  5. King Crimson - Red (DVD-A)
  6. King Crimson - Discipline (DVD-A)
  7. King Crimson - Islands (DVD-A)
  8. King Crimson - Lizard (DVD-A)
  9. Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (DVD-V)
  10. King Crimson - Starless & Bible Black (DVD-A)
  11. Emerson, Lake & Palmer (DVD-A)
  12. King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon (DVD-A)
  13. Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink (DVD-V)

Interesting....

For me I think he's done an excellent job on Islands, so that rates high...

OK - my order is:

King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic (DVD-A/Blu-Ray)
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (DVD-V/Blu-Ray)
King Crimson - Islands (DVD-A)
King Crimson - Discipline (DVD-A)
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (DVD-A)
King Crimson - Starless & Bible Black (DVD-A)
Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink (DVD-V, sounds better in Hi-rez.... :))
King Crimson - Lizard (DVD-A)
King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon (DVD-A)
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (DVD-V)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus (DVD-A)
King Crimson - Red (DVD-A)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (DVD-A)

Thats a lot of mixes when you look at it like this....

I'll settle with a top 3 - do not really have the energy for more :)

Jethro Tull - Aqualung (Blu-Ray 5.1)
King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic (DVD-A 5.1)
King Crimson - Lizard (DVD-A 5.1)

Here is my order:

King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic (DVD-A/Blu-Ray)
King Crimson - Discipline (DVD-A)
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (DVD-V/Blu-Ray)
King Crimson - Starless & Bible Black (DVD-A)
King Crimson - Islands (DVD-A)
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (DVD-A)
Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink (DVD-V)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Tarkus (DVD-A)
King Crimson - Lizard (DVD-A)
King Crimson - Red (DVD-A)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (DVD-A)
King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon (DVD-A)
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (DVD-V)

I really like the Discipline, Islands, and Starless albums, which is why they rate higher for me.

I also really enjoy the Caravan album, and I can't believe how good it sounds for Dulby. Would love to hear this in lossless (send a PM if you have an "in" :) )

I have to put TaaB at the bottom. I can't believe how poor it sounds.

I'll go top 5 since I have not heard 3 of them (the 2 Elp and the Caravan) and am not the biggets KC fan. I love Jethro Tull, but will wait for a proper release of TAAB before I will listen and judge how it sounds! So....

1. Jethro Tull - Aqualung (DVD-V)
2. King Crimson - Red (DVD-A)
3. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (DVD-A)
4. King Crimson - Starless & Bible Black (DVD-A)
5. King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic (DVD-A)

I haven't heard them all either, but was listening to the stereo of Storm Corrosion the other night and am now DEFINITELY interested.

To me...

1) Discipline
2) LTiA
3) Grace for Drowning
4) Aqualung
5) Fuck it.....the one Bass Communion mix I have, just because it's such a success in a completely different style.
