DiscWelder Install Won't Find DVD Drive On New Windows 8 PC

I bought a new ASUS CM1745 running on Windows 8 and DiscWelder Chrome cannot find the optical drive.

Help.

I never used Chrome to do my burns - just have it write out the AUDIO_TS and use some other program to do the burning.

i feel your pain my friend. I recently updated my wifes computer from a window 7 machine that she fried to a new windows 8 model and @25% of the programs she regularly used will not work or are buggier than hell. Even basic stuff like microsoft office 07' has major communication glitches. Bottom line is 8 is a pain in the ass. So i think your problem stems from chrome not communicating properly with 8. A work around as suggested by steely may be your only solution. Perhaps he can enlighten you further as to what he uses on 8 to accomplish the finalized burn. Kevin

It may help to try updating the burn engine drivers - supplied by GEAR software.
Remember this app is long since discontinued as well.....
