Light Harmonic, the folks behind the highly rated $31,000 DaVinci Stereo DSD/PCM DAC have announced a crowd-funding campaign for a new desktop DAC that will play DSD 64/128 files and PCM files in Stereo as well as serve as a headphone amp. The upcoming Geek Pulse will sell for $499 - but crowd funding pledges can lock in a price of only $249. See http://www.indiegogo.com/project/569574/widget/5214323
Geek Pulse is a follow-up to a recent crowd funded product from Light Harmonic called Geek Out. This is a USB-based DSD and PCM playback product which will launch in January 2014 for around $299. It was funded via Kickstarter and raised funds far above the target. During this campaign, a number of people asked for a desktop version - now known as Geek Pulse.

Interesting to see audio makers join the crowd funding craze.
