Back at in 2009 (I believe) you made a list of 20 albums that deserve to be in surround sound.

http://www.soundandvision.com/content/20-albums-deserve-be-surround-sound

Since then, from that list we've had the following issued in surround:

  • Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick
  • Rush - Moving Pictures
  • The Who - Quadrophenia (Partially)
  • Yes - Close To The Edge

In your list - what would you replace those 4 albums with?

Thanks!

Well, it's been a full decade since @LizardKing's post, and we've only gotten two more albums from the list in surround: Animals and Skylarking (although Quadrophenia received a full surround release, and a few songs from What's Going On are in streaming Atmos).

What's depressing is how many of the artists on Steven's list still have nothing or very little in surround -- I see Kate Bush and ELO and early Peter Gabriel and Radiohead and Talk Talk and such on there, and it makes me wistful that no progress has been made on their catalogs over the last ten years.
