Here's a little bit of confusion: Mountain - Flowers of Evil, not so Quad

Hmm. Something doesn't smell right here. These flowers have an evil aroma!

Don't know what to make if it. I don't see the "Q" word anywhere. Only a notch. And four programs. WTF?

That is Stereo in My Book
I have seen a lot of these people think are Quad
Some how 8 track seems to mean Quad to some people

Perhaps it's bogus. Yet, with GRT's stellar track record, it's entirely possible that they labelled it incorrectly.

I would say they are NOT quad. I've seen stereo recordings housed in quad carts before on Ebay. I think some of these companies just had excess quad plastic carts available and on some rare occasions packaged their stereo tapes in these leftover notched carts. Mountain Flowers of Evil was a 2 Tape quad set. If I was home I could confirm the track listing on each tape, but I suspect Program 1 & 2 on that cart are tape 1 (Record Plant, NYC, Sept. 1971
Tape 1 #7119-5501A) and Program 3 & 4 are tape 2 (Live At The Filmore East 1971
Tape 2 #7119-5501B)

Either a leftover quad shell, or simply used for the wrong format at the time. Mistakes happen, who knew it would be noticed so many years later?

Well, as of yet, no bidders. Hopefully no one will end up like the "winner" of this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iron-Butterf...item3f2d3a7eb7

Hmmm... the eBay ad was removed. Anyway, the "winner" paid $124.50 for an Iron Butterfly In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida Quadraphonic 8 Track.

If he looked here it would had saved nearly 125$:
