Donovan Storyteller on Hybrid Stereo SACD from Audio Fidelity.
An excellent collection of Donovan's Greatest Hits with a bonus track by Buffy Sainte-Marie.

Now out of print. But worth finding.
Recommended!

Listening to it right now!....Steve Hoffman did a nice job on this one....I never really listened to Donovan very much...just the hit songs...he sounds a lot like Bob Dylan on this title...you get sunshine superman...mellow yellow... and hurdy gurdy man...3 hit songs and 14 total..thumbs up on this one(y)

Tea For The Tillerman-SACD....haven't listened to this for a long time...and I don't know why...the music is so mellow..but it's not that elevator type.. the lyrics are strong and meaningful...vocals are just crystal clear...and the content is excellent..

I must admit, AP did a brilliant job on this Cat SACD remaster. Crystal clear and one of my VERY favorite artists of the 70's. I understand that AP was supposed to release more Cat Stevens' SACDs but due to licensing problems they were canceled. :(

BTW, Clint, if you don't already have it, this Cat Stevens DVD/RBCD combo comes VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The DTS 5.1 sound is stunning and this captures Stevens during his absolute prime: https://www.amazon.com/Cat-Stevens-...F8&qid=1504041283&sr=1-3&keywords=Cat+Stevens

Hmmm - I like Donovan...don't have this one.

You would love it...you just have to realize it's not surround...but with this type of music I doubt if you would care(y)...ask BrianM what he thinks about it...

That's fine - since you've been "away" :) you'd be shocked how many stereo SACD I've purchased. I think the last one was Salty Dog by Procol Harum. I also have The Scorps Greatest Hits on pre-order SACD Stereo. :)

That's great...as much as I love surround...a good man who knows his limitations can't be limited by them(Clint Eastwood 2017)

I've learned that whether it's Dolby Digital...DTS...LOSSY...LOSSLESS...DVD-V...yada yada yada...if it sounds good...get it...don't worry about the metrics... 24/96 is just a number...it's not the secret to musical happiness...sure the neighbors will talk about you...your dog might bite you...but at the end of the day..content is king...and to get the best available sound with that content should be your mission statement...having all those demo discs on your shelves with content that is only mildly interesting to you and collects dust isn't the way to go...I tried that approach...it didn't work for me...before my exodus from the forum I had started to reverse my spending habits to music I actually liked...regardless of what type of delivery system was employed...I just got tired of buying all the Steven Wilson gems(and they are fantastic surround discs)and hoping I could learn to like THE MUSIC...which was a novel concept in the beginning..but was an epic fail...in my case...I did it under the guise that I wanted to be exposed to different types of music...but that experiment is over now...

Don't forget about the more recent Double DSD (DSD 128) Download of Tea for the Tillerman.
Transferred from the Analog Master Tape by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound.

Even better than the Stereo SACD.

Interesting. The Tea for the Tillerman SACD has been on my want list for some time. So the choice is now between the SACD, single-rate DSD, and double-rate DSD. The limited reviews at Acoustic Sounds seem to prefer the single-rate DSD.

Now I'm in a quandary...I'm 100% certain my ears can't hear the difference between DSD 128 & 64. But the mastering differences between the two transfers may be sufficiently different to make one more pleasant than the other.

Too bad we can't get a "trial" period to decide ;-)

Nils Lofgren "Acoustic Live" SACD.

Holy cr*p! Lofgren on "Keith Don't Go" is phenomenal. I've never heard a sound more beautiful and vibrant than his guitar work here. Vocals are good too. Very impressive live recording.

Run as fast as you can, don't walk. Get this if you like acoustic guitar. :worthy:worthy:worthy

I have all three and prefer the double rate DSD (DSD 128) Download.
The single rate DSD (DSD 64) Download is good. Hard to lose on this one.
