Pat Metheny - Bright Size Life [SACD Hybrid Stereo] [Japan]

That's next on my list.

I've been spinning Keith Jarrett's fantastic Köln Concert [ECM SACD stereo] this past week and it sounds glorious.

Even with CDJapan's added proxy fees, still the best place to purchase these limited edition SACDs. Acoustic Sounds is charging $60 per title. Ouch!

Don't wait too long. They've got one left at CDJapan, and I'd bet they won't be getting any more. Grab it!

You're welcome, Steve.

After reading your reply, it brought to mind another "original" song that Zep did. At least, Page & Plant would claim it as "original." Since I've Been Loving You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4THXeOD-Dw quotes Moby Grape's Never, which is from the Grape Jam album (bonus disc w/Wow) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqmcckH4fqg Grape Jam came out in '68. Led Zep III is from '70.

And then, from 1967 there's Dazed and Confused, written by Jake Holmes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTsvs-pAGDc

I am a Zep fan and own 3 of their box sets. Still, I call 'em as I see 'em.

30 years ago, I had the opportunity to speak with Matthew Katz. He pronounces it "Cates." He's everything you heard about him and more.

Hey Linda. Thank you very much for taking the time for such a detailed response..

I love Moby Grape! I wish they hadn't had so many personal and management issues. So sad. That debut album was incredible. The king of the San Francisco bands in my mind. When the CDs came out, I missed out before that SOB Katz filed suit. I paid more than I wanted too, but tracked them all down.

Lastly, you are right about Taurus and Stairway to Heaven. I love Led Zeppelin, but this wasn't the first time they took too much liberty with someone else's music. They were really good at though! So again, thanks Linda. I don't post much around here, but I always love to read yours. All killer and no filler!

Spirit - Spirit (AF Stereo SACD)
Spirit - The Family That Plays Together (AF Stereo SACD)

Very nice, pretty much flat transfers. I've been listening to Spirit since 1968. I'm not familiar with all the various releases (having owned only the original LPs and a couple of CD remasters), but these are the best versions I've heard.

The 40th Anniversary Celebration Album from Opus 3.
Features 18 tracks including past SACD favorites on the Opus 3 label, a few tracks from their DSD Downloads and a preview of some upcoming SACDs.

Excellent sonics as always with Opus 3.
Recommended.
