A Jazz/Fusion Multichannel SACD for $12 Shipped !

There's been a lot of talk here on QQ about classic Jazz Fusion albums that were released in Super Audio CD - many of which are now out of print - by Allan Holdsworth, Paco DeLucia, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and others.

In that same musical style, there is a lesser-known Hybrid Multichannel SACD that is still available brand new at very reasonable prices - starting at $12 also featuring some interesting Jazz fusion stylings.
The quartet goes by the unlikely name "Helmet of Gnats" and their album was recorded to multi-track analog, mixed to Stereo and 5.1 Surround in analog and then directly transferred from analog to Direct Stream Digital (DSD).

The recording is excellent. I'm impressed that they recorded and mixed in analog and then went direct to DSD. The care and attention the band gave to the process shows in the audible results.
Definitely one for Jazz fusion fans to check out.

Yep, this is a great album. I saw them live at Prog in the Park in Rochester 7-8 years ago.

Listened to the sound files and love it! How did I miss this? I have heard their name but not the their music. Looking forward to hearing this and the new Beck Morning Phase I bought too

This is a really fine album and excellent surround mix. I saw them live a few years ago and they put on a great show.

Elusive Disc seems to be the only site clearly stating the disc is MCH SACD...I ordered from Amazon so we'll see what I get.@:

I think this album is only available as SACD. I've never seen it in any other format.

I think you are right - that this is a Single Inventory, Hybrid Multichannel SACD only.

I contaced the owner of Ambient regarding my order and she confirmed it is an SACD. So no worries.

Great news! Thanks for following up.
At $12 including shipping, it's a great deal on that Multichannel SACD.

I should also mention that Ambient has a Multichannel SACD of Classical Music and a few Stereo SACDs by a guitarist that are also well recorded and worth listening to the sound samples on their web site.

Arrived today from Amazon. It is a MCH SACD

Its a great album, which I'd have missed if it hadn't of been posted here.
