Gus Skinas Video on SACD, DSD & New DSD DAC from PS Audio

Gus Skinas, owner of the Super Audio Center in Boulder talks about SACD and DSD in this new You Tube Video.

It's also a promo for PS Audio's upcoming DirectStream DSD DAC, but the early part of the video does have some interesting moments with Skinas talking about SACDs by
Pink Floyd, Elton John and Nat King Cole, among others, that is worth watching.

Also of note, the designer of the new DAC is Ted Smith, an engineer who was an early fan of SACD and an active participant on the Hi Rez Highway web forum.
Smith tells me he remains a fan of Multichannel SACD and is planning to talk with PS Audio about a Multichannel version of the DAC once the Stereo edition has launched.

An update on this. PS Audio has finished work on the new DirectStream DSD DAC mentioned in the video by Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center.
They are phasing out their earlier PerfectWave DAC to focus on the DirectStream DAC and related products.

It will make its Audio Show debut at the upcoming Axpona Audio Expo at the Westin O' Hare in Chicago on April 24-25, 2014.

Also worth noting, PS Audio is holding demos of the DirectStream unit at their Boulder, Colorado headquarters.
