Amazon have listings for "Deluxe Edition" CD + DVD versions of Rick's Six Wives of Henry VII and Arthur in February. No other details so far, and nothing on Rick's site or Twitter feed (yet) either. Maybe the quad mixes?? Has anyone heard any whispers of new 5.1 remixes?

I found these yesterday as well along with the Simple Minds release, but I didn't post anything about them just cause there was no definite guarantee that surround mixes would be included in these releases (even though they say DVD by them).
Obviously there are Quad mixes for both of these albums, so that would be most likely, as opposed to brand new 5.1 surround mixes.

Thank you, I have pre-ordered 6 wives deluxe edition.

Hope it is true. I really enjoy 6 wives, have it on Japanese vinyl, but would really enjoy a quad. I understand King Arthur is a bit over the top ego-centric, but I would probably like it too...

Arthur is definetively over-the-top, but so is the story, so both things fits well.

I could never make it thru King Arthur; too boring for me (except for Merlin the Magician), too much blablabla, not enough music....

6 Wives OTOH....yummy!, can't wait....a SUPER disc...this way I don't have to do a "long time waiting to do a conversion" conversion...

I've now seen that the dvds in these forthcoming sets include the quad mixes :sun

Hi Colsky, where did you see the confirmation about the quads?
Six wives will be an instant buy, not that sure about Arthur (I've got already the vinyl and did not play it for ages)

I get e-mails from this place every so often. Must be the same release.

I too can't remember the last time that I played Arthur!

the listing even says dvda. Lets see when we have more inforamation if this is the real deal or an audio only dvdv.

Given UMe's recent track record with DVDA, including them in the Tears for Fears and the upcoming Simple Minds box sets, I would say that things are indeed looking good! (as the Ruttles once sang) :)

I emailed Rick Wakeman's site a while back, and asked about the Quad mixes, they said you can find them illegally! I said I wanted them legitimately! The SQ of 6 Wives is ok-ish via DD PLii so a discrete quad mix would be great  :51banana::wave its one of my favourite all time albums.

I doubt you'll be playing that SQ rip again come January :)

Wow, Universal seem to have upped their game considerably this year.

that's a shame, even after 15 years labels can't distinguish DVD-Audio from an Audio only DVD and be more precise in their description.
so seems till release hit the shelves no one will know if this one's lossless DVDA or ADVD with lossy DTS/DD
