“Live N’ Bernin’” The BBB featuring Bernie Dresel - Pure Audio Blu-Ray 9.1 Auro 3D/5.1 DTS-MA 24/96 Monster Music
9908f14325880947dfb71168f6612c58.jpeg

Recorded live in 2016, this is a Monster Music release (and the first, that I know of, in lossless surround) that has somehow fallen through the cracks - no mention of it on their site. Bernie Dresel is the former Brian Setzer Orchestra & Gordon Godwin’s Phat Band drummer. Much in the vein Of Buddy Rich’s Big Band excursions - even produced by Gary Reber - who produced Buddy’s last live project “Live On King Street” in SQ surround. Great discrete live mix with exhaustive documentation of the recording process down to Auro 3D mixing mic placement etc, etc, etc. available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/The-BBB-Feat...25&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B0727RF3MC&m= [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Wow...that one really flew under the radar...I'm just surprised that Monster Music is doing titles again...it's listed on importcds as a Special Order.....this is another example of getting surround music thru the "back door" of another featured technology...works for me...

Wow, Wow, WOW! Is this a new direction for Monster Music? I've often lamented the fact that they exited the Discrete 5.1 surround arena but this is a MUST buy. ImportCD does list it [as Clint says] as a special order but with their Take10 10% discount it's about $5 less than Amazon: http://www.importcds.com/bbb-and-bernie-dresel-live-n-bernin/190394930677

The 13 AmazonUS reviews for this disc are OFF THE CHARTS. ALL are 5 stars! https://www.amazon.com/The-BBB-Feat...25&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B0727RF3MC&m=

I'm certainly seriously interested.

Rush - A Farewell To Kings... I just love this. Right now Alex's solo from Cinderella Man is bending and flowing back and forth all over the room. This album gets better from beginning to end (A Farewell To Kings (the song) is probably the least impressive surround mix, while Cygnus X-1 is perfect!)

Listening to Cygnus... the sound effects start up front, while the bass fades in from behind you, moving to the front, eventually trading places with the sound effects which move behind you. So cool :)

Good album.
The band was at the LA Audio Show this summer performing the tracks from the album live.

It's also available from Acoustic Sounds as a 5.1 FLAC Download for fans of Surround Sound Downloads.

Fleetwood Mac - Mirage. I paid whatever stupid amount of money when it came out. Luckily (!) the box and box set were damaged during shipping so amazon gave it to me for free. I wish I could've just paid for the DVD-A but free is ok too. Great band, even at their not-best. :smokin

Christmas With Ronnie Aldrich & The London Symphony Orchestra- Some nice, retro department store Christmas music in surround. For anyone who's heard this: Is it just one piano being played, and the mixer moving it around from speaker to speaker, or are there several piano's? (I'm assuming the former, but just thought I'd ask).

Stop Making Sense-Talking Heads blu ray....as I mentioned on another thread...I had seen this concert awhile ago on the first generation blu ray...this one I just purchased is an improved version...this is just a fun concert...no real crowd noise to worry about if you choose the "studio mix"...yes there are 2 styles of surround on this disc...the other is called "film mix"..with some crowd noise...hard to believe this was done in 1984...WAY ahead of it's time...although the video appears "dated" to some...it reminds me more of film...with subtle grain..it's not the polished "shiny" image of modern HD...but still pleasing...I purchased this blu ray from amazon UK for one reason...the studio was clearly marked as Second Sight...they did the restoration of the audio and video...amazon Us has this too...but they don't really give you the studio...it's just listed as imports...it's probably the same as mine...but I didn't want to chance it...I strongly recommend this disc...it's unique(especially for 1984)...lively(a real toe tapper)...and the "fun" factor is off the charts...it is very reasonable too...the amazon UK listing is HERE....amazon US....HERE

If you buy this before 5pm today(CT) you can use the TAKE10 discount and get 10% off this title HERE

Gotta give it to them...a "build up band" with each song.... and yeah, DByrne may be an egotistical maniac..but...who am I to judge??? (and Tina W didn't pay Adrian B his royalties from the writing on the TTClub)...it's a screwed up world.... LET US ENJOY IT WHILE WE ARE STILL HERE!!!!!

Does this mix have discrete activity in the rears (like a Scheiner live mix) or ambience?
