Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair on blu ray in 5.1. Quite a few folks don't care for Steven Wilson's work on this one... I'm not one of those people. :spot

I agree...what those people don't realize is that this is the very best version that is available...and for me that is all that counts

2 Tacet DVD-As of Bach:

Six Brandenburg Concertos- Very discrete surround sound (as with all Tacet recordings), but I much prefer the Pentatone Remastered Classics version of these concertos; better performance and fidelity (even though only ambiance in rears)

Concertos Vol. II- This is fantastic... fidelity and especially content are excellent. Very discrete.

In a Rush today :D Starting with Beyond The Lighted Stage, one of the best rockumentaries in the business imo. As I try to get a few things done around the house, this will be followed by selected works from:
Signals
A Farewell To Kings
Fly By Night
Moving Pictures
2112
All on blu ray in 5.1

One of the great Elliott Scheiner 5.1 Mixes.

Rush...great idea...just put in R30....I know a lot of people...me included....aren't happy with the sound quality of most of the Rush catalog...but the performances and songs are just incredible...I know a lot of people are tired of hearing this song...but it's the classic rock song...Geddy brings the words to life...and what power for just 3 guys...Tom Sawyer....that and subdivisions are probably my favorites...

How about a little Rush fix!

Yep, great intro. The BD audio catalogue I would list as extremely average sound wise, no doubt. I have a half dozen or so Rush BD concerts and I'd say the same for them. Good but not great. Going to put on Time Machine from Cleveland, my favourite of the concerts.... but can't give you a reason why :D

Mirror Image - Blood, Sweat & Tears (Q8)

still one of my absolute favourite Quad mixes from the last few years of discovering cool new surround stuff on old Quad records (and now tapes)

Zm147FR.jpg

Michael Hill - Black Gold & Goddesses Bold! (SACD) sort of power blues, decent surround mix, a bit loud

Robert Plant “Nine Lives” DVD (5.1 DTS) from the box set.

Took awhile to pull the trigger on this, hoping for a used copy but Amazon’s price for New was best. Mix wise - fun videos -discrete/ambient/double stereo. Still very happy with the purchase - great package, content and fidelity.
