I have been waiting literally for months for a Smyth Realiser--apparently the demand has far outpaced the build rate for this unique item. I am looking at putting it into a setup with an tube headphone amp from Woo Audio that includes a DAC.

It seems that it makes most sense to send the Smyth an HDMI signal rather than an analogue signal on the input side. What do you think would be best on the output side? One choice would be to use the DAC in the Realiser, and connect to the amp with analogue cables. The other choice would be outputting digital from the Realiser via optical (the Woo has an optical input), and letting the headphone amp do the DAC...Any opinions on this?? The latter option would certainly cut down on cable costs and messy connections! Not sure which DAC is better...
