Congratulations to you and your lady!

Looking forward to the final release. Odyssimusik is working on a webportal bandcamp-style for surround. Perhaps you can contact him for distribution.

Thanks, Robert! It's been a long, dark journey to try to become parents. We're very relieved that we're only days away from meeting out new addition to the family.

I'll check in to Odyssimusik's portal. Thanks for the suggestion.

Regarding the song and mix, don't you all be shy! I know some of you can play FLAC fairly easily. We'd love your input before we really tie a bow on this thing.
Some of the other links in this thread may be defunct, but Illusions is ripe for the pickin'.

Take care Mike :)

About Jan/OdysseyMusik (I spelled it wrong the first time) here is his mention of the website, https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/fo...files-directly&p=331785&viewfull=1#post331785

I downloaded the mixes, will check them out probably tomorrow evening.

Somebody's been listening to a lot of prog. :) I dig it. (y) Good job, Bags. And good to see you back on the QQ. I was wondering what had happened to ya.

Unfortunately, my 5.1 is out of commission for the foreseeable future, so I can't comment on the surround, but the music sounds like it would lend itself well to surround.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing!

You're in for a treat I believe... those 8 tracks of vocals during the full chorus create a perfect circle around you..

Really cool to find out about this thread, I am into original surround like you! I will be checking it out too brother.:smokin

Well, that's pretty damn cool. The fidelity and mix sound great. I sure hate to comment on someone's work...who is clearly talented...but I'm not a huge fan of those horns in this particular song. Well, let me put it this way, I don't like how they suddenly show up midway through the song. They sort of caught me off guard. But hey, that's just how I perceive it.

You have a lot going on in terms of tempo and or mood of the song. That's cool too. It really does sound good my man. Sometimes I wished the drum rolls were sped up a bit...again...just me. Who am I to criticize someone else's decisions?

You should be proud of how this sounds, if I had half your talent...... :)

Ah, good! Those are the two biggest issues. Musical taste is always going to be subjective, but if something sounds bad, most of us here will find it hard to enjoy.
I sure don't like all the arrangements I hear, no matter how talented a band or performer is, so that is perfectly understandable.

The thinking with the horns went something like this: It's hard to keep a listener's interest for 7 minutes, especially with a repetitive riff. The horns (like the lead guitar) are mostly ornamental, so they seemed like a natural choice to delay entry, then add and subtract to help change the context of that main riff from time to time.

This track is among the moodiest and least-accessible that I've done, up there with Disturbing the Universe. Hopefully, for some, that will translate to sustained interest, but to others it might be off-putting. I'm just glad it got done. It began life way back in 2008 and has gone through several compositional transformations (misfires). The first demo was shorter and poppy. No key or tempo changes. The theme is very powerful and important to me and I hope I've done it some justice at this point!

Thanks for listening GOS! :upthumb

Hey friends! It seems as though this project is nearing completion. I'm hoping to finish one more song that I consider essential.

Updated 2.0 list:
https://soundcloud.com/mike-vieira/sets/disturbing-the-universe-the

Recent 5.1 addition:
Break You
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Pl7U0EQTMLVFF3aXJnSENvTDQ

Soon, I need to begin addressing artwork, authoring, reaching out for reviews, distribution or storefronts and all that fun stuff.
In any event, worst case, FLAC downloads will be available on QQ.

My hope is that this project will become a manufactured DVD-AV with extras.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. We should definitely talk as I get closer to a finished product. If things keep rolling along like they have it shouldn't be long.

The album is now up on bandcamp:

Does your site deal with FLAC download or only physical product? I have a 5.1 download package ready. However, my ultimate goal is to produce a bluray.

Thanks,

Mike
