the mighty HALEN!!!!...Mike was THE VOICE...
I thought it was the studio recording until Dave started....ehem...singing(?)...

This is a nice clip! The footage is not perfectly synced, but audio and video appear to be the same performance. I saw Van Halen in 78, 79, & 80. In this clip you can start to see David Lee Roth moving away from singing all the words in exchange for more posing and twirling. By 1980 this became intolerable in my view, so I did not see them again for nearly 30 years. I did see them at Red Rocks last summer and enjoyed the show despite the reduced vocal capabilities of Mr Roth. Eddie still kicks ass.

By the time I saw them in October 82, Dave wasn't even bothering...but man, what a show!!! It was debauchery central!!!!!

An interesting relic...Billy Joel at "Mar y Sol" Festival in Puerto Rico in 1972...pretty decent audio...great version of "Captain Jack".....

aaaahhhhhh...
SNL...
The only thing that keeps us "up to date" with what is REALLY going on in the US...

The only consistently funny section is the "Weekend Update"- they have finally found a great team--Colin Jost and Michael Ché are SUPER and have a great dynamic going on between them....took them a while , though...

As for the rest , I always look forward to the "Waltz in A", which is really a blues chord progression in 3/4 (or 6/8), and Lenny Pickett just going insane on the sax!
I hope one day they record this properly and release it so we can hear the ending....(does it have an ending??? has anyone ever been to an SNL taping?? I'd like to know...)
Well, here are a few of those on one video...I never get tired of listening to it...

Wow, I must've had too much to drink last night, again.

I have deduced from analyzing the remains from last night that I must've had a bowl of sandwich, which is rather odd, as I have plates and saucers that I could've used. Not sure if I've ever had a bowl of sandwich before, strange.
