HK Universal Music has just released 3 Japan SACDs on december 15th:

Tim Drum
Oil On Canvas
Gentlemen Take Polaroids

All of them hybrid stereo SACD.

Once again, a band I've not heard of. Sometimes I think I must live in a shell.


Know what you mean.
I've heard of them, but haven't heard them.
Time to find sound clips and see if they're worth buying

Edit: sampled a few tracks, they look and sound like many other British bands of that era.
Will dig a bit further but my initial reaction is I'll probably pass on these
 
I was thinking the exact same thing. But Universal is very stingy with having their back catalog remixed into multichannel.

It's not that Universal is stingy. It's that they often can't find the Multichannel versions of albums in their tape library from what I've heard.
That would explain why even Universal Music releases of albums are using conversions from '70s Quad editions of their albums vs. the actual master tape when Surround Sound tracks are included in an Anniversary or Special Edition release.

Fortunately that is not the case with Sony Music - and even Warner Music - titles.
The Quad and 5.1 master tapes are find-able in their tape vaults.
