afaik there were 12 Ray Conniff Quads in all

There are certainly a number of Ray Coniff and Percy Faith Quad Recordings that Dutton/Vocalion could license for Surround SACD release.
Wouldn't be surprised to see more Surround SACDs from these artists from D/V in the future.

I had a crazy thought today. Can DV perhaps try and give us a John Denver Two-fer? Now, we all know that Poems/Prayers/Promises was released in Quad but that was it! How can it be a two-fer? Well, in a January 4, 1975 edition of Billboard, an article states that month two new albums from John Denver and David Bowie were to be released. Now, I can only speculate that the second album may have been "Back Home Again" which was a triple-platinum title and was only released in June of '74. So a January '75 release date for a Quad title doesn't seem too far fetched.

(In my heart, I want it to be "Rocky Mountain High" which went Double Platinum, but for RCA to release a three-year-old title in Quad.... hmm, dunno - or - wouldn't "Greatest Hits"also be the cats' ass? )

Either way.... would D-V consider doing a search of the RCA archive to see if there's an unreleased John Denver Quad floating around? If Audio Fidelity can do it.....

I think a single SACD release of John Denver is more likely than a two-fer.
A John Denver Surround SACD is definitely in keeping with Dutton Vocalion's Easy Listening catalog reissues.

So it's certainly possible.

one thing that does pique my interest about the upcoming Valentin Stereo SACD from DV (and sorry to do this, i know i'm always looking ahead to what might be coming next) is the "Arista" in GRP Arista.. is this 'THE' Arista?

only, if Dutton Vocalion have access to the Arista label Quads, that gives me hope they might one day reissue one of my absolute favourite Quads on my vinyl Quad voyage of discovery the last few years and that is The Brecker Brothers "Back To Back" which is just wonderful.

I would think they might have access to Arista.

Afterall, Arista is in the BMG family with RCA and Buddah .:D

In that case -- a big wish they'd put out the Jefferson Airplane quad of VOLUNTEERS on SACD (yea, I have several versions, including the gold MFSL, but no quad 8'/).

Heck, I'd spring for an SACD of Kantner's BLOWS AGAINST THE EMPIRE :upthumb

Ah, Adam...you're certainly NOT alone in looking ahead as to what D~V could and can release. The Brecker Brothers [jazz] would fit well within D~V's realm of possible QUAD transfers as well as Barry Manilow and Melissa Manchester.

And my wish, of course, would be ALL those CTI Quads: Airto Moreira [Fingers], Deodato/Airto In Concert, Grover Washington [Soul Box], George Benson [Body Talk], as well as a Stereo SACD of George Benson's CTI masterpiece White Rabbit: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...28081C9147BC8C6FCD1428081C9147BC8&FORM=VRDGAR

Yes to all of those in Surround SACD! :)

Forgive me for being such a NOOB regarding what is available in Quad and from what label. But.....if I could get some Barry White in Quad....I simply would pass out.@::banana::yikes

NOT to mention Mystic Moods Orchestra's One Stormy Night and its follow~up, NIGHTTIDE......both unabashedly romantic exemplars of Easy [Sleazy?] Listening at its very finest with audiophile sound effects/interludes from MoFi's founder Brad Miller!

Not sure who has the Mystic Moods catalog these days.
It was issued in Quad by Warner Music in the '70s. And then from Mobile Fidelity on DTS Music Disc.

That's where the plot thickens. According to the Quadraphonic Discography of albums that were remixed into QUAD but never released, Nighttide & One Stormy Night and a Mystic Moods album called Drifting Prophet [?] were released on the Sound Bird label and according to current Amazon Listings of Nighttide and One Stormy Night, the label was hds which, as I recall, used to be on some of the DTS Entertainment DTS discs.

Who has the QUAD masters is anyone's guess but I suppose Philips no longer has them.

To release these albums in QUAD would take some super sleuthing on Michael Dutton's part but if anyone could find them, I'm sure Mr. Dutton would be the man. And if he succeeded, I'm sure they'd be TOP sellers for D~V as they fit into his array of Easy Listening music....only this isn't schmaltz but extremely tastefully done music with some amazing sound effects.

I found this tidbit which might be of some help: https://www.revolvy.com/topic/Mystic Moods Orchestra

Apparently Brad Miller started Sound Bird Records but still, No mention of "Drifting Prophet" which IS listed as a Mystic Moods Orchestra Album remixed to QUAD and never released. Curiouser and Curiouser! http://www.surrounddiscography.com/quaddisc/quadnot.htm
