I saw this original post for the first time like 2 weeks ago......the next day i felt the need/rush to buy an OLED 3D Set......so i went for an LG E6P 55"......these tvs are manufactured in Mexico and fortunately it was asequible....however they are expensive (like 1800 USD).....but let me tell you something......i just finished watching Doctor Strange.......and my wife said: nice movie.....nice effects.....nice tv and nice 3d.......eventhough she hates Marvel movies.....and also hates 3D.......this is the best investment i have done in several years.......my 3d collection grew exponentially in 2 weeks.....from zero to 60 titles......now i need more time to watch 3D..........thanks for having you to make me "waste" the money......

Congratulations. BTW, the price you paid was a GREAT deal. They do [did] list for $4,000USD. 0~60 titles in the span of two weeks.......you certainly get the award in that department. Tonight I'm watching The Stewardesses in 3D, a soft core porn movie (probably PG rated by today's standards) and I'll let you know if there are any POP OUTS!@::mad:@:

"The Stewardesses"? ....I have it in anaglyph 3D format just because I love the plot.

It REALLY is dreadful. As an anecdote I watched Disney's The Little Mermaid in 3D.

Regarding The Stewardesses, one Amazon poster commented that it was shot on a budget of $100,000 and grossed $25M. Maybe in 1969 but NOT in 2017. That's for sure!

LG Electronics of South Korea announced it will invest $250M to built a plant in the United States. Rival, Samsung, has also announced similar plans. This [they allege] in response to President Trump's policy of bringing back manufacturing jobs stateside.

And while you're at it, LG & Samsung, how about continuing the manufacture of 3D TVs [in LG's case: OLED 3D] to celebrate your stateside launches?

Supposedly, the added cost of including 3D capability in present Flatscreen TVs is minimal.

If you have a Samsung smart TV be careful what you say out loud.

There was a four star General on The Stephen Colbert show last night who was former head of the NSA and he assured us that without a warrant from a federal judge, they cannot wiretap or eavesdrop on ordinary citizens via smartphones, TVs or microwave ovens.......the latter of which I found most intriguing!:yikes

BTW, just added the 3D BD~V of Suicide Squad to my collection. MARVELous!

As a REAL King Kong junkie cannot wait for this to be released on home video as it was released to theaters in IMAX 'REAL' 3D: http://www.blu-ray.com/Kong-Skull-Island/399811/#Review

I really wish Peter Jackson's excellent and woefully underrated Kong movie was released as an up conversion to 3D BD~V, but sadly NOT.

I still cannot fathom why so many current films are still being released in 3D and they've decided to pull the plug on the format. Insane, REALLY!:yikes

I saw him on the show as well. Yes the government needs a warrant but anyone else can do as they want. The technology is not that difficult once you know how it works.

Seemed like it played FOREVER at the local porn theater back in the old days. Weirdly, the fact that the theater could run 35mm 3D meant they were also the only house in town (as far as I can remember) to play a 3D reissue of "House of Wax" around the same time. It was the first 3D movie I ever saw and also the first time I'd been in a porn theater.

The building is now a mortgage broker or something equally boringly respectable.

Speaking of porn theaters...were we? The local one to me in the mid-late 70's was also the theater that would show the "Midnight Movies"....Jimi Plays Berkley, Easy Rider, Woodstock......all the rock concert and related films. So the porn crowd would be piling out as we were walking in. ;)

And the seats were sticky.:yikes

The 3D acquisition marathon continues with a most unusual program entitled Fairy Forest/The Feast...... an 81 minute program very capably shot in 3D.....of a LIVE concert with some very lovely music. The Forest section features flutes, harp, guitar/mandolin, violin and cello with offstage percussion instruments and a few sparse vocals (actually more Enya dreamlike vocalizing). The Forest also contains some beautiful scenic images which are shown on stage in full 3D and then shown full frame via some very clever editing.

The ONLY downside: the video is full 1080p but the audio is DD 5.1 but really sounds quite nice. The AmazonUS asking price of $9.95 brand new w/free prime s/h is also quite reasonable....roughly the price of a RBCD!

Same here! The Towne on Myrtle Avenue in Sacramento. Porn all the time except for Friday and Saturday at midnight when the ran the KZAP midnight movies. It was the first time I ever saw "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" well before it was a big deal. Didn't know what I was getting into but loved it. They ran that one in 35mm, but some of the stuff they could only get in 16mm, including "Eraserhead", unfortunately. I can only thing of one time the midnights overlapped with the porn when for some reason the midnight feature was "Behind the Green Door", I guess because it was notorious enough in its own right.

They also ran a 3D porn double feature in the early 1980s but both features were anaglyph and didn't look that great. Umm...I mean that's what I heard from...a friend. Yeah. A friend. Totally.

Today, Amazon is shipping the UHD 4K/3D/2D version of PASSENGERS....a highly anticipated title. Problem is we're anticipating the Nor'Easter [read: Blizzard] of 2017 which is expected to dump 12~24 inches of snow in the region (along the East Coast] so maybe I'll get it by Wednesday. Am still awaiting availability of the new SONY 4K UBP-X800 $300 player but it's still listed as coming soon.

LG is having an authorized sale on the 65" OLED65E6P. $500 off listed price for a total of $3499, from yesterday until April 1 !! I just ordered mine. Better grab one before they're gone! Every retailer I checked now shows it at that price. Don't know if any of the other sizes are also reduced.

Imagine my surprise when I came across this blurb listed on Hi Def Digest's website. SONY is announcing their 2017 line~up of OLED TVs in 55", 65" and 77" configurations. Of course there is NO 3D mentioned anywhere: https://blog.sony.com/press/sony-el...ility-for-the-new-bravia-oled-4k-hdr-tv-line/

Crutchfield is also carrying the new SONY UBP~X800 3D compatible Universal player which will be available on 3/15/17: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158X8...X800+ploayer&osp=sony+ubp-x800+ploayer&tp=171

The 55 inch OLED is five grand. I could buy three of my 55 inch LG OLEDs for that amount.
