Quadraphonic disc reviews.

These are from JVC'S 1976 brochure for North America and possibly Europe.

From 1977 (a little late in the CD-4 game) the Shure CD-4 stylus.

replaced my JVC SHIBATA 4MD-20X with this Shure M24 H . Wotta VAST IMPROVEMENT it made to my CD-4 disc playback. Absolutely a noticeable improvement on playback.!!!!

That's too bad. I think I paid just under $100.00 CDN for my Harmon Kardon 44+, and there were other low priced demodulators in Canada back in the day.
I think the Sansui demodulator was cheaper than their QS variomatrix decoders ! Go figure ?
I paid more for my CD-4 compatible Dual turntable than my demodulator.

I think my Shure M24H cost me about £50 back in 1977, a lot as the rent on my student room was £5 per week, then I ran out of money!

$100 back in the day what was a lot of money. you could buy a brand new car for what a quality stereo system cost back then

Perhaps, but the point I was trying to make was that the demodulator I bought was cheaper than each of my decoders from Sony and Sansui.

They started at $150.00 and up !
