Is this a true Q8 Player. Anyone ever heard one of these?

It looks like only 6 wires coming out the back. Seems like a few short for a quad player. Also, the balance control only indicates Left - Right. My conclusion is it only has a single stereo amp inside. Seller is probably describing it based on the 4 channels found on a standard 8 track tape.
The last one that popped up on eBay, I asked the seller if it had two stripes or four across the playback head and he answered "four".
Six wires are enough for Quad operation:
1. Power
2. Ground
3. FL
4. FR
5. BL
6. BR
Ground the speakers to the chassis.
The balance knob only has left & right, but the volume knob has front & rear.

Think so... 6 wires are enought, since usually stereo 8 track players used only 4.
Six wires schematic:
1) +FL
2) +FR
3) +RL
4) +RR
5) +12v
6) ground for 1 to 5
Also the box says 4 channel, don't think it was misleading.
I stand corrected on this. I did not see the front rear on the volume control. And the other posters are correct. It can be done with 6 wires.
Ask the seller if the tape head has four stripes or two. That should settle it.

Also keep in mind many stereo car systems used four speakers - two in the front and two in the rear this started in the early seventies-plus it even says stereo on the box.
