One interesting quote was "AJ: Nick (Mason) came down on day one to hear some of the stuff we’d done. He said ‘Wow’, and ‘Have fun, guys’. But yeah, we’re totally trusted by those guys to do justice to their work."

If the band trusted Andy's magnificent work fully why did they stop the 5.1 mixes from the recent box set?

ROGER was the one that vetoed the inclusion of the "Meddle" and "Obscured by Clouds" 5.1 mixes in the recent box set on the basis that he did not have a chance to hear and approve the mixes before they were included.
If it were up to David & Nick, they would be on there, but since they operate on an all-or-nothing democratic basis, they had to acquiesce to Roger's vote.
