Me know it is not music, but the King of the Zombie genre is gone :(

Urrrrrrrgh :howl

As a big old-school horror film lover, this is a huge blow. He invented the modern zombie film with 'Night of the Living Dead' and has influenced countless other horror films and the horror film industry in general, probably more than almost anyone else. Also from interviews and articles I've read, he was a very kind and caring person and a genuinely nice guy.

Rest in Peace George.

I remember seeing Night of the Living Dead for the first time in a midnight showing at a local cinema. I then had to go home to our old [and somewhat creepy] Victorian Funeral Home where we had three human remains 'in repose.' You never saw someone run up that winding mahogany front staircase so fast in your life.:yikes

BTW, a recent acquisition and the best it's ever looked, IMO http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Night-of-the-Living-Dead-Blu-ray/14216/#UserReviews.......GREAT price @ CDJapan [I paid 3x this amount last year] http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/BIXF-23

RIP, George. You WERE VERY special.
