The recording industry panel on MQA at the upcoming Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (RMAF) in Denver has been canceled.
Apparently, the MQA folks decided against participating.

Quite an interesting discussion on all of this among the recording and mastering engineers over at the Gear Slutz Forum.

Brian, here's another negative from Dr. AIX regarding MQA's No Show @ RMAF:

Even though I am a Meridian Man, even I concur that we do not need another format clouding an already overcrowded audio universe.

Dr. AIX would have been a good voice to have on a panel about MQA.
I agree with him that running one of his 24/96 AIX recordings through an MQA encoder or plug-in would not be sonically desirable.

Much better to keep 24/96 recordings at that resolution than to process them via the MQA system and squeeze the file down to a "CD quality" size.

Oh well. Could have been a memorable moment at RMAF next month.
