Now I know there are at least one probably more of these kicking about on QQ....but dammed if I could find them.

So next post I'll commence my reported lists of DVDA discs that were to be, but never happened. Most are from 2002-2005, and a lot of these may or may not be mixed.
Confirmed via various sources mixed indicated as : ☆

That Todd Rundgren title is going to be released for the first time on SACD in January 2018...in STEREO...it's a double album

That recent thread with old SACD catalog pics had a few you're missing.

https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/fo...ith-Kansas-Leftoverture-listed-as-coming-soon

Kansas- Leftoverture
BS&T- Greatest Hits
Miles Davis- Bitches Brew
Herbie Hancock- Future Shock
Ramsay Lewis- Sun Goddess
John Denver- Greatest Hits Live
Stevie Ray Vaughan- Texas Flood
The Killers- Hot Fuss

Otherwise pretty comprehensive list...the unreleased quad list is even longer and more depressing unfortunately.

Just looking at the lists below, all it would take to Bankrupt me would be an enterprising record company! What a strange thing for me to wish for :yikes

Metallica are my favourite band but I am in no way disappointed that St. Anger hasn't come out in any Hi Res medium !

Just did a second scan and noticed some titles that I don't remember being on the old Warner DVD-A wishlist.

A few of these are on unreleased quad lists, but I've never heard of them being done for 5.1:
DP- Burn
Bread- Best Of Vol. II
Doobies- Takin' It To The Streets

Some other curios:

Red Hot Chili Peppers- the only 2004 release by them was a live album (Live in Hyde Park). Assuming it must be a studio album, we are talking about either By The Way (2002) or Stadium Arcadium (2002)?. "Dani California" is a real throwback for me...would be too cool in surround.

Mountain- Odd choice IMO. As we know they have a few quads that were on Columbia LP and GRT Q8...so would this have been Sony SACD gold slipcover series or does Warner now own their back catalog? And which album?

Aerosmith Rocks- A few stereo SACDs made it out of this one...are we talking about a new 5.1 remix in the vein of Toys In The Attic or the quad repackaged? I've never seen any reference to this one being issued in MCH other than the old quad.

Beatles Abbey Road- The only one I ever heard rumored for surround release was Revolver...curious where the info is from. We may yet get this one in 2019...

Thanks for putting together the list. Normally I wouldn't get too wrapped up in speculation, but with the upcoming release of the Fleetwood Mac '75 album there may be hope for more lost mixes to be freed...

This compilation comes from a few sources such as DVD AUDIO GUIDE, DVDA REVOLUTION, SONY, DVDA INFO (WB), UMG, Silverline/Immergent and maybe a couple others I don't remember.

Mountain and Snoop Dog were from DTS ENT/HDS and were to be DTS CDS.

Al Stewart I had a star in my book, but it was so long ago I was uncertain about it's possibility of a 5.1 mix. So yes they are likely mixed but unreleased. Many of these are likely mixed but we may never know , and most were on multiple reporting sites back when.

And I apologize for not including some Sony titles . Just forgot or for some reason neglected to mention them.
Both SRV discs and Kansas, etc.

Bread vol 2 I believe was slated for a four channel release, but I did also see it on a reported listing for DVDA 5.1, no surprise that.

Is that the one that's the subject of this discussion, kap'n? (Had a hard time finding that thread with vBulletin's "Search" function, but Google was my friend....)

Yes, I remember finding that discussion once I stumbled across that disc. Most think it's an upmix. I need to rip my SACD now and run it through the most recent SpecWeb and do a comparison...

Thanks for the additions btw.

Two or maybe three of those were indicated as stereo SACD only I thought . The Miles Davis and John Denver at least initially I believe. Wasn't aware they were later offered up as multi.

But your correct in that this list large as it is, contains a lot of shoulda/coulda and therefore becomes a bit depressing.

I suppose I should have included the handful of titles on my book's listings that actually made it out however late, such as Dylan 64, Van Morrison-Moondance and those Mac's in amongst the N/R (in total) .
So although small in quantity......once in a cosmic miracle....we finally are super shocked with a rumoured release.
Kinda makes it all worthwhile.

Boy you said it Duncan.:D

If only 10 of these N/R were suddenly announced ? Can you imagine ? All hell would break loose.:nuke

Shame the DMB Central Park didn't see the light, presumably on SACD given it was a Sony/RCA title. I hope it may see a Blu-ray reissue soon so we can get a lossless version of the surround mix which is currently only available on DVD in paltry 448 Kbps 5.1

Would just about scream to see Nothing's Shocking released in 5.1 although I think Ritual would lend itself better.
