Very sad news indeed. I purchased many an album based on John's always authoritative reviews and recommendations over at Audiophile Audition. R.I.P. John.
 
I met John at CES where he hung in the audiophile booths. He loved quad and was intrigued with DTS and came by quite a bit. And he sold me a bunch of quad oddities on reels that should probably get out for a listen. He loved audio and was a gentleman. Nothing special, some he recorded i believe. RIP John
