Gave it a 9. I like the raw sound of this record. the music is great.
The rears are too quiet, just containing some ambience.

The band do sound Raw, This also Contains the only classical music I have on DVD-A On the whole I like the atmosphere created by the surround mix but an agressive mix it aint.

I originally picked this up on LP back in the day, and I must say that it never did much for me. The surround release definitely kicks it up a notch or three and allows me to appreciate it so much more. I must say that it is one of the better full-bore rock group and orchestra collaborations to come out of the sixties... but what does that really say? Not a whole lot, I'm afraid. Be that as it may, this one gets 7 heartfelt points (the original stereo release would get 4, so that's a pretty big leap forward, I'd say).

Well done DVD-A by a well meaning group; however you won't likely listen to more than 1/4 of it I believe. It's dynamic to be sure but ponderous as well.

    Could be why it's $68.99

I bought the dvd-audio version today locally for about $17.

    underwhelming in every respect.

this discs' cause isn't helped much by the fact this just isn't my cup of Deep Purple tea, I guess.. I'm more a Machine Head/Burn/Stormbringer man.

this just doesn't do much for me on any level, i'm afraid, stylistically, or content-wise.
in terms of sound quality and surround mix its just ok but not my kind of sound.

so its a "6" to be fair and reasonable as its not terrible, though I'm really not keen on it at all, I gotta say (just in case you hadn't already gathered..!)
