    Default Beatle remasters and mp3

Just saw on headline news that Apple is remastering the whole catalogue (not news) and will all be released for mp3 downloads.

    Oh Good Grief!
Lets hope it's not completely destroyed as the Bowie remasters were - Peter Mew killed the lot (and they are now known as Mewtilations as well).
Why can't labels leave well enough alone, this insistence on butchering the back catalogues never ceases to amaze me - what is wrong with the originals?

Yup. The next Beatles release I want to see is hi-rez 5.1. Anything else doesn't interest me.

I wouldn't mind a reissue that included both Stereo and Mono mixes of original albums.

I won't knock any remastering until I've actually heard them. As far as we know, they could sound great! Although the idea of remastering for mp3 seems rather silly to me.

Well, the initial 1987 Beatles cd's are horrible for the most part, especially from PPM to Rubber Soul. If there is a chance that they can redo them properly, then I'm all for it. Peter Mew is not doing them, according to rumours.

If you've heard the EP Collection, you'd know how wonderful these songs can sound.
Getting it done in 5.1 !!!
