    Thanks! The Ohio Players tapes sound really good. Honey sounds identical to the DTS CD that was also released. Fire is also good, though I don't play it all that often.

    I could probably rattle off the sealed/never opened tapes that I've also opened:

    Steve Miller - The Joker
    Eagles - One of these nights
    Guess Who - Canned Wheat, Share the Land, Road Food, Flavours, Power in the Music
    Ringo Starr - Goodnight Vienna

    But I'm also more into collecting for the music, not just to show off that I have all these tapes. Every one gets played. Heck, I even had a Q8 player in my AMC Hornet for a few years.

    I'd love to see first BTO album be converted... My BTO II was done a little bit ago and
    the first two albums are my favorites.

    The first BTO is my vote for their best. Does anyone have a Japanese CD-4 of this? I never acquired a Quad of it. The CD has been OOP for years, though I own one and a 2ch LP.

    My lone Q8 is a still sealed copy of Curtis Mayfield's "Roots".

    I have another Q8 that came in a large 8-track collection I bought a few years ago, but I can't remember the name of the album for the life of me. (It was a live album, that I do remember... One of the songs on it was called "You and I").

    Mine are all in boxes. Still packed away from a recent divorce. Will get settled and haul them out again at some point, but here is my list;

    My apologies in advance for all the annoying pop-ups. It's a free website and I made my web pages back in the late 90's. Just have not gotten around to transferring it over to another server.

    Sweet. Anyone remember going into a store and seeing that many Q8's? There was a store I went into off of Times Square once that had a huge Q8 case filled with them. I can't remember the name of the store, but they went out of business years ago. I think the chain was bought by Sam Goody.

    It was called King Karol Records. They had a few stores including their main store on 42nd street as well as the one in times square that you mentioned. I purchased many quad tapes there myself as well as Wally's Tape World on the west side.

    That was it! King Karol Records. Wow. I hadn't thought about them for years. A great store. They had shelves of albums all stacked way up high with a ladder to access them (employees only of course), and I remember scanning the spines from far away looking for the occasional COLUMBIA QUADRAPHONIC at the bottom instead of COLUMBIA, then asking if I could go up and see which one it was. Of course, that's back when I could see small things from a distance.

    Welcome "Arnold Layne"! Nice set of tapes there. The Canadian Capital sampler is very rare, and one of the best sounding Q8's I've ever listened to. (The EMI PF's are not too shabby either! )
